TPIN is a source of vitamin B6 in the form of pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P). As the most active form of vitamin, P5P serves as a catalyst for more than 140 reactions. Vitamin B6 participates in almost all metabolic reactions involving amino acids, including their synthesis and breakdown. About 70-80% of vitamin B6 is found in muscles, where it serves as a coenzyme for glycogen phosphorylase. This enzyme is necessary for glycogenolysis, which breaks down glycogen into glucose, and provides fuel to muscles during exercise. Low levels of vitamin B6 also lead to an increase in synovial fluid in the joints, which causes nerve compression. The root of Eleutherococcus, a thorny shrub native to Siberia and northern China, has health benefits due to its high levels of lignan. TPIN also contains an extract of ginkgo, a plant traditionally used in Chinese medicine. Ginkgo contains flavonoids, terpenoids and proanthocyanidin which are responsible for its positive health effects.
