Description
GI Care is comprised of extensively researched botanicals and the neuroprotective agent zinc carnosine, designed to promote healing and support the integrity of the gastrointestinal tract. GI Care helps promote a healthy epithelium, protecting and restoring the cells that line the gastrointestinal tract through multiple complementary pathways, including reducing inflammation and complementary intestinal disorders, including reducing inflammation and intestinal permeability.
Deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) has been used clinically primarily to protect the gastric mucosa from damage, through several mechanisms including augmentation of antioxidant enzymes, inhibition of inflammatory compounds, and inhibition of growth hormone and inhibition of H. pylori growth.
Chamomile and marshmallow also possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory phytochemicals. Experimental evidence shows that chamomile has a protective effect on the gastric mucosa and that marshmallow promotes epithelial regeneration through mucilaginous polysaccharides.
Numerous experimental studies indicate that aloe vera gel improves wound healing and intestinal permeability, partly through the regulation of tight junction complexes. Aloe also promotes intestinal barrier function and the production of protective mucus, and alleviates intestinal damage in gastrointestinal diseases.
Zinc carnosine has local anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects and promotes wound healing in response to various types of intestinal diseases.
Dosage
Adults: Take 1 scoop (approximately 4 g) once daily or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. Mix with liquid before use. Take with food, a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products.
