Native to Asia, this tree with gray-brown bark has very small, dark green leaves and flowers in small groups at the ends of the branches. The fruit is an ovoid cone (4 cm) green then brown at maturity with clasping scales. These large, pyramidal, evergreen trees were dedicated to Pluto, God of the empire of the dead; which explains its frequent presence in cemeteries.
For localized massage: 1-2 drops added to 1-2 drops of neutral vegetable oil. For body massage: 2-10 drops diluted in 5-10 ml of neutral vegetable oil. A skin test is recommended for sensitive skin. For use in an essential oil diffuser: 1-6 drops can be added undiluted to the diffuser (ultrasonic, atmospheric).
