Eleutherococcus (Eleutherococcus senticosus), or Eleutherococcus, is a highly recognized medicinal plant that promotes physiological balance and resistance to stress. Eleutherococcus also supports physical work capacity, as clinical research suggests. Eleutherococcus may achieve these actions in part by promoting optimal energy stores. Preclinical research suggests that Eleutherococcus promotes the conversion of amino acids into carbohydrates and glycogen by the liver and stimulates glycogen formation in tissues.
