Psyllium is used in herbal medicine as a bulk-forming laxative and to promote bowel movements by increasing bulk and water content. Psyllium provides gentle relief from constipation or irregularity.
Adults (19 years and older): Take 1 teaspoon twice daily. For each gram of psyllium, take with at least 30 mL of liquid (water, milk, fruit juice, or similar aqueous beverage). Drink immediately and maintain adequate fluid intake. Effects seen 12–24 hours after the first dose; results may take 2–3 days. Take 2 hours before or after taking other medications. Avoid long-term use and consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 6 weeks.
Each teaspoonful contains: Psyllium Husk (Plantago ovata) 2128 mg Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) 53 mg Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) 53 mg Inulin 100 mg Guinea Sorrel (Hibiscus sabdariffa) 126 mg Non-medicinal ingredients: Stevia Leaf (Stevia rebaudiana).
